Showers bring some early-April relief
April showers arrived on cue in Kingfisher County and across portions of central and western Oklahoma.
The Mesonet station on the Mueggenborg farm west of Kingfisher registered an even .7 inch.
An unofficial gauge along Shafenberg Road east of Kingfisher showed slightly over one inch.
Local weather Observer Steve Loftis reported .75 inch of rain at the National Weather Service Station in Kingfisher along with pea-size hail at 5:45 a.m.
Other rainfall amounts reported from around the county included:
Cashion – .8 inch to two inches across the area according to reports from Cashion Grain and Feed.
Twila Adams reported 1.5 inches east of Kingfisher and northwest of Cashion.
Dover – one inch at the Rick and Robin Johnston residence, northwest of Dover at 7 a.m. Thursday.
Hennessey – .73 inch at the Harold Ebers residence. Loyal – one inch at the Jon Cochran residence in Loyal.
Okarche – .9 inch at the CHS Elevator in Okarche and one inch at Okarche Grain and Feed west of Okarche. Michael Reid recorded 1.35 inches northwest of Okarche.
Other Mesonet reports included: Watonga .65, Marshall .88, Guthrie 1.61, El Reno .86, Yukon 1.05 and Chickasha 1.05. Elk City showed the largest amount at 1.89 inches and Hobart in southwest Oklahoma was right behind with 1.79 inches.
