SIXTH STREET SINKHOLE — Paved and unpaved county roads weren’t the only byways to take a beating from May and June flooding. This surprise sinkhole opened up Tuesday afternoon on the 300 block of North Sixth Street in Kingfisher where the road base had washed away from under the pavement. The section of road is blocked off and City Manager Dave Slezickey said crews will start digging Monday when the city's engineers are in town to assess the extent of the damage and evaluate repair options.
