Morgan Snowden has been announced as the winner of the 2020 John A. Francis Scholarship.

The $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually by the Kingfisher Rotary Club to assist a current college student with qualified educational expenses.

Snowden is currently a freshman at Southwestern Oklahoma State University majoring in accounting.

“I’m very honored they chose me and am very thankful for the scholarship,” Snowden said.

The daughter of Mark and Karen Snowden, she graduated from Kingfisher High School in 2019.

Snowden said she plans to obtain a master’s in business administration (MBA) and pursue a career as a certified public accountant (CPA) in this area.

Snowden was most recently on the SWOSU President’s Honor Roll for the fall 2019 semester and is a member of the President’s Leadership Class.

She’s a member of the Phi Beta Lambda, an on-campus business club, as well as Baptist Collegiate Ministries, where she is in training to lead groups of incoming freshmen in a Bible study and to help them navigate their college experience.

Snowden is also an active member of Weatherford’s First Baptist Church.
