By

A local man was found dead last Sunday from an apparently self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head, according to a Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office report.

Deputy Kyle Svoboda was dispatched to a home near Lake Elmer northwest of Kingfisher about 11:22 a.m. Sunday, according to the report.

The body of Kevin Wayne Roden, 47, was found seated in a chair inside the living quarters of a horse barn on the Roden property, according to Svoboda’s report.

The body was discovered by Roden’s wife, Deborah, who told Svoboda she had last spoken to her husband about 4 a.m. the same day after returning from the Kingfisher Rodeo about 2 a.m., according to the report.

A representative of the state medical examiner’s office was also called to the scene, according to the report.

No evidence was found of drugs or alcohol being involved in the death, according to the report.
