Solaris road done
County approves $1.3 million project completed with CDBG, ODOT funds
The Solaris road project received its final approval Monday.
Kingfisher County commissioners heard the final performance report from CDBG grant writer Millie Vance of Ardmore that the road project had been completed within the budget, then passed a resolution accepting the report and authorized Chairman Jeff Moss to sign close-out documents.
A $1 million Commerce Department economic development grant had been requested and $831,000 of that was used along with $503,000 from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
The balance of the CDBG grant will be returned to the commerce department, Vance said.
She said Solaris had met all its requirements by investing $33 million in the facility, which supplies fracking sand to area oil well developers, as well as providing a required number of jobs for targeted income groups, and providing 29 jobs, of which 51 percent go to low or middle-income employees.
The road, located east from U.S. 81 in District 3 between Kingfisher and Okarche, has been in use for several weeks.
Commissioners approved pre-payment to Railroad Yard for materials already delivered for a bridge on Duffy Road in District 1.
Moss explained that the construction work had been delayed due to flooding earlier in the year but Railroad Yard would like to be paid for the materials it bought for the project.
The following companies received permits for pipeline crossings on county roads:
• McDonald Land Services – 12-inch water line five miles west and four miles north of Okarche, District 3.
• Complete Energy Services – three -inch water line one mile south and six miles west of Hennessey, District 2.
