Spring livestock Show starts Saturday; changes to in-person bidders’ feed, sale
Due to ongoing coronavirus protocols, the in-person bidders’ feed and premium sale which traditionally follows the Kingfisher County Spring Livestock Show will not be held this year, OSU Extension Ag Educator Bryan Kennedy announced.
Instead, prospective premium bidders will receive a list of the 100 exhibitors who qualify for the sale.
The list will include the exhibitors’ names, towns, animals and a blank where bidders can write in the amount of their donations.
“The list will be made available as soon as possible after it has been completed and double checked for errors and corrections,” Kennedy said. “Once the list is available, it will be sent out via email.”
Kennedy sent an email explaining the changes to businesses, organizations and individual premium buyers from past auctions and encouraged them to share the email with other prospective buyers who might be interested.
Businesses and individuals also are encouraged to partner on premium purchases as they have in the past.
Payment deadline for premium buyers is 4:30 p.m. March 1. Multiple premiums can be paid with a single check made out to Bidders’ Feed.
Premium buyers also are asked to state whether they want a premium sale said.
“We hope to be able to return to business as usual next year,” he said.
