Study Club elects new officers at March meeting

By

Kingfisher Study Club met March 6 in the parlor of the First United Methodist Church with Martha Burditt serving as hostess and Gerry Plummer co-hostess.

Fourteen members were present as President Carlene Gooden led the business meeting.

New officers for the coming year will be: Melda Fischer, president; Gerry Plummer, vice president; Nancy Cravens, secretary, and, Donna Lann, treasurer.

A foreign exchange student from Germany lived with Martha (Smith) Burditt’s family in 1952-53 during the two girls’ senior year of high school.

The two have remained close friends and Martha has taken several trips to visit her friend and see many sites in Germany. She and Plummer served German refreshments to the club members after the program.

The meeting closed with the reading of the Club Women’s Collect.

Members next month will have a short business meeting at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, in Fellowship Hall of the First Christian Church and decorate for the Senior Girls’ Tea, which will be held at 1:30 that afternoon.
