Taylor, Daugherty are October Junior Lions
Kingfisher Lions Club was host to a pair of distinguished seniors last Thursday.
Kingfisher High School’s Cora Beth Taylor and Ian Daugherty were named the October 2020 Junior Lions and were guests of the civic club at its weekly meeting.
Taylor is the daughter of Kevin and Beth Taylor.
She’s active in FFA, FCA, Student Council, cheer and is a baseball manager.
Taylor serves as the FCA president and FFA sentinel.
She’s a member of the National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, has been listed on the superintendent’s honor and was named the Kingfisher County Distinguished Young Woman.
Taylor was also a part of a national champion ag issues team through Kingfisher FFA.
Taylor said she plans to attend Oral Roberts University to major in biology as a pre-med student. She plans to be a neonatal neurosurgeon.
Daugherty is the son of Derek and Micah Daugherty.
He’s active in Student Council, FCA, baseball and basketball.
He’s a member of the National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, has been listed on the superintendent’s honor roll and has been named a KHS Student of the Month all four years.
Daugherty has earned numerous baseball honors and has committed to play baseball at Oklahoma State University.
He plans to major in biology as a pre-med student.
He said he wants to “play baseball as long as possible” and later pursue a career as an orthodontist.
