By

Theta Tau Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International met Monday, Oct. 19, in the Fellowship Hall of the First Christian Church.

Terri Peck, president, called the business meeting to order at 7:10 pm. The members repeated the opening ritual.

Theta Tau will sponsor four students at the Oklahoma School for the Blind.

Paige Kraus, educational director, presented the guest speaker, Shauna Rupp, Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce director.

Rupp told club members a little bit of the history of Route 66 and a national celebration to commemorate the 100th anniversary of U.S. 66 will start in Oklahoma with a weeklong road festival that AAA will kick off June 18-19, 2021, in Tulsa.

Rupp then went on to explain some of happenings that will be taking place in downtown Kingfisher on Nov. 1.

Beginning at noon, she said it will be a day of family activities with sales, photos, Express Clydesdales and conclude with the tree lighting at the Kingfisher County Courthouse at 6 p.m.

Rupp also talked about her job as the chamber director and her responsibility to promote businesses and events.

To find more events happening in Oklahoma, Rupp said to follow Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell on Facebook.

The members are working on making Aunt Bill’s candy and later in November and early December they will begin making muffins, cinnamon rolls and Amish bread.

Members are now taking orders to be delivered the first of December. If Winterfest is not canceled, they will also have a booth to sell their items.

Cathy Holsted and Debi Trout served refreshments to Cynthia Eaton, Kraus, Donna McPherson, Ramona Paine, Dana Terrell, Stormy Simmons, Misty Blundell and Peck.

The next meeting will be Nov. 16.
