Three jailed on drug trafficking charges
Three people face felony drug trafficking charges after Kingfisher County sheriff’s deputies allegedly found 20 grams of methamphetamine in their vehicle during a July 5 traffic stop.
All three pleaded not guilty to the following charges Wednesday in Kingfisher County District Court:
•Shayla Leroyia Lovins, aka Shayla Leroyia Johnson, 34, 19481 N. 2793 Road, Kingfisher, trafficking in illegal drugs; held on $25,000 bond, due back in court at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
•Rosemary Berry, 55, (no address listed); trafficking in illegal drugs and possession of controlled dangerous substance (heroin allegedly found during the jail book-in process); held on $25,000 bond, due back in court at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
•Socorro Riddle, 36, 1008 N.W. 45th St., Oklahoma City, trafficking in illegal drugs, after a former felony conviction of distribution of controlled substance in 2009; released on $25,000 bond, due back in court at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 13.
According to the affidavit of Deputy Kendon Lott, arresting officer, Lovins was the driver and Berry and Riddle were passengers in a Chrysler 300 that Lott observed driving north through Dover with an inoperable tag light about 11:20 p.m. July 5.
Lott turned on his flashing lights and when Lovins pulled the Chrysler to the shoulder, Lott saw an object tossed from the passenger side window of the car, according to his affidavit.
Searching the area later, Lott allegedly found pieces of a digital scale next to the roadway. While neither Lovins nor Riddle said anything about the scale, Berry allegedly told Lott that Rodd;e had thrown the scale out the window.
After a drug dog alerted on the vehicle, officers searched the car and allegedly found a bag in between the passenger seat and door containing a large amount of a clear crystalline substance inside two large plastic bags and also smaller quantities in 11 smaller bags which appeared to be “packaged for sale,” according to the affidavit.
The total weight of the substance, which later tested positive for methamphetamine, was approximately 29.4 grams, according to the affidavit.
Officers also located another digital scale, several prepaid debit cards, six cell phones and two meth pipes.
All three occupants of the car were arrested and transported to Kingfisher County Jail.
If convicted, Lovins and Berry each face up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $200,000. Due to his prior felony conviction, Riddle faces an enhanced penalty of four years to life in prison, according to court documents.
