County Treasurer Robin Rother reported that 30.85 % of Kingfisher County’s ad valorem tax bill had been paid as of Monday.

Total collections totaled $12,738,590.50 of the total abstract certified for collection — $41,289,887.00.

Rother reminded that Thursday is the deadline to pay 2020 ad valorem tax under state law.

If the tax is not paid by that time a 1.5 % per month penalty is required to be added to the tax.

However, those who elect to do so may pay one-half of their total bill by Thursday and delay the second half payment until March 31 without penalty.

The treasurer’s office will be open in the courthouse on Thursday to accept tax payments. Rother said.
