The following traffic accident is being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:

August 22, 2:25 p.m. - At North Main Street and East Jackson Avenue.

Austin Huntsberger, 20, Kingfisher, driving a 2012 Toyota, was exiting 523 N. Main St.

Magdalena Deras, 62, Hennessey, driving a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, was northbound in the outside lane of U.S. 81.

The Huntsberger vehicle attempted to turn left onto southbound U.S. 81 and failed to yield to the northbound Deras vehicle. The Deras vehicle struck the Huntsberger vehicle in the front driver’s side.

Functional damage was reported to the Huntsberger vehicle and disabling damage to the Deras vehicle.

The driver of the Deras vehicle sustained possible trunk injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher for evaluation.
