Traffic accidents
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following traffic accidents:
Feb. 28, 3:45 p.m. — 1609 S. Main Street (Jacket Express). Corey Thompson, 51, of Kingfisher, driving a 2018 Ford F150; Randy Duffy, 70, of Loyal, driving a 2015 Ford F150.
According to the report from Sgt. Justin Trumbley, Thompson was parked facing east in the parking lot while Duffy was driving south across the lot. Thompson backed up and struck the Duffy vehicle as it passed behind him. The Thompson vehicle had no damage and the Duffy vehicle had only very minor damage that appeared to wipe off the bumper.
March 3, 7:50 p.m. — Broadway (SH-33) and 13th Street. Patrick Brewer Regan, 48, of Okarche, driving a 2004 Volvo V70; Russell D. Scoville, 51, of Hennessey, driving a 2004 Kenworth.
According to the report from Officer Dillon Chaloupek, both units were traveling eastbound on SH-33 just entering the city limits when Regan stated he fell asleep. When he woke up, he said the semi-truck was right in front of him, so he swerved to miss it, but struck the rear driver side mud flap. Scoville, according to the report, had to stop Regan from driving off.
March 5, 11:30 a.m. — Seay and 10th Street. April Lumpkin, 43, of Kingfisher, driving a 2018 Ford; Jacob Lee Conrady, 18, of Kingfisher, driving a 2008 Lincoln.
According to the report from Capt. David Catron, Lumpkin was northbound on 10th Street and failed to obey the stop sign, striking the Conrady vehicle which was east-bound on Seay. There were no reported injuries.
March 5, 11:15 p.m. — Sixth Street and Bowman. Savanah Johnston, 29, of Kingfisher, had parked her 2013 Ford on the east side of South Sixth Street. An unknown vehicle hit the rear driver-side bumper and caused damage to the Johnston vehicle without making contact with Johnston. The report from Officer Dillon Chaloupek noted that the damage to the suspect vehicle was more apparent, as a dark blue colored panel piece was found at the scene, as well as a large black plastic piece and a headlight.
March 20, 2:39 p.m. — Main and Chisholm. Tamara McDow, 34, of Clinton, driving a 2011 Chevrolet HHR; and Daren English, 57, of Ocala, Fla., driving a 2018 GMC Sierra. According to the report from Sgt. Justin Trumbley, both units were in the inside lane, northbound on Main. English came to a stop to make a left-hand turn onto Chisholm. Mc-Dow failed to stop in time and struck English from the rear. There were no reported injuries.
