Traffic accidents
The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:
February 21, 8:10 p.m. - At 201 S. Main St. Bennie Ridenour, 21, Kingfisher, driving a 2010 Chevrolet, was backing out of a parking space at Love’s Country Store.
Edwin Smith, 52, Kingfisher, driving a 2012 Dodge, was parked at the gas pump. The Ridenour vehicle struck the Smith vehicle resulting in minor damage to the Smith vehicle and no damage to the Ridenour vehicle.
Officer Dillon Chaloupek investigated the accident.
February 21, 11:30 a.m. - At S.H. 33 and Second Street. Wayne Schommer, 62, Guthrie, driving a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, was eastbound on S.H. 33 near the railroad underpass.
Bennie Ridenour, 21, Kingfisher, driving a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado, was eastbound directly behind the Schommer vehicle. The Schommer vehicle slowed for a street sweeper. The Ridenour vehicle failed to slow down and struck the rear of the Schommer vehicle.
Schommer and his passenger, a 49-year-old female, sustained possible head injuries.
Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. Officer Dustin Brodrick investigated the accident.
February 24, 8:00 a.m. - At U.S. 81 and Seay Avenue. Erin Stover, 42, Okarche, driving a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse, was northbound on U.S. 81 approaching the Seay Avenue intersection.
Glenn Westerberg, 61, Kingfisher, driving a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado, was southbound on U.S. 81.
James Bell, 51, Lucien, driving a 2019 Dodge Ram, was stopped in the westbound lane at the stoplight of the United parking lot.
The stoplight was green for northbound and southbound traffic.
The Westerberg vehicle attempted to make a left turn into the United parking lot and failed to yield to the Stover vehicle.
The Stover vehicle struck the Westerberg vehicle on the rear passenger side. The Westerberg vehicle then struck the front bumper of the Bell vehicle.
No injuries were reported. Functional damage was reported to the Stover vehicle, disabling damage to the Westerberg vehicle and no damage to the Bell vehicle.
