Traffic accidents
The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:
May 8, 12:30 p.m. - At 1615 S. Main St. Gabriel Reyes, 19, Oklahoma City, driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, was backing out of a parking space in the Braum’s parking lot. Garrett Rogers, 40, Fairmont, driving a 2016 Dodge Challenger, was eastbound directly behind the Reyes vehicle. The Reyes vehicle struck the Rogers vehicle on the passenger side. Functional damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. Officer Jason East investigated the accident.
May 11, 7:13 p.m. - At 1213 S. Main St. Paula Post, 63, Kingfisher, driving a 2018 Toyota, was traveling through Atwoods’ parking lot and struck a handicap parking sign. Disabling damage was reported to the Post vehicle and approximately $50 damage to the sign. No injuries were reported. Officer Matthew Hollon investigated the accident.
May 14, 10:30 a.m. - At U.S. 81 and Overstreet Avenue. Jose Gutierrez, 34, Mt. Vernon, Texas, was southbound on U.S. 81 in the outside lane. The Gutierrez vehicle struck the curb, veered to the right and struck a light pole on the northwest corner of U.S. 81 and Overstreet Avenue. No damage was reported to the Gutierrez vehicle. No injuries were reported. Officer Justin Trumbley investigated the accident.
May 26, 1 p.m. - At Bowman Avenue and South Sixth Street. A 15-year-old male, Kingfisher, driving a 2010 Chrysler, was eastbound on Bowman Avenue near the intersection of South Sixth Street. Arlo Bohlman, 59, Kingfisher, driving a 2012 Honda, was northbound on South Sixth Street. The Bohlman vehicle failed to yield at the stop sign and struck the passenger side of the 15-year-old male’s vehicle. Disabling damage was reported to the 15-year-old male’s vehicle and minor damage to the Bohlman vehicle. No injuries were reported. Officer Justin Trumbley investigated the accident.
May 28, 9 a.m. - At U.S. 81 and Main Street access road. Ashlie Hartfield, 26, Kingfisher, driving a 2009 Ford Edge, was westbound on the access road to Dollar General and approaching the U.S. 81 intersection. Keila Laughlin, 27, McPherson, Kan., driving a 2010 Nissan Altima, was northbound on U.S. 81 and attempted turn right onto the access road. The Laughlin vehicle struck the Hartfield vehicle on the front driver’s side. Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. Officer Dustin Brodrick investigated the accident.
May 30, 4:54 p.m. - At South Seventh Street and West Toronto Avenue. A 16-year-old male, Kingfisher, driving a 2010 Dodge, was eastbound on West Toronto Avenue near the intersection of South Seventh Street. Megan Ashley, Kingfisher, 33, driving a 2019 Mitsubishi, was northbound on South Seventh Street, approaching West Toronto Avenue intersection. The Ashley vehicle failed to yield at the intersection and struck the 16-year-old male’s vehicle in the rear passenger door. Disabling damage was reported to the Ashley vehicle and functional damage to the 16-year-old male’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Officer Matthew Hollon investigated the accident.
