Traffic accidents
The following traffic accidents have been or are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:
August 27, 4:57 p.m. - At Main Street and Bowman Avenue. Candace Johnson, 67,
Candace Johnson, 67, Kingfisher, driving a 2017 GMC, was northbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81.
Kaleb Kretchmar, 18, Kingfisher, driving a 2004 Dodge, was southbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81. The Johnson vehicle
The Johnson vehicle attempted to turn left onto West Bowman Avenue and was struck in the passenger side by the Kretchmar vehicle. According to the report,
According to the report, the driver of the Johnson vehicle stated the Kretchmar vehicle had its left turn signal on and she thought it was clear to make the turn. The driver of the Kretchmar vehicle admitted he did have his left turn signal, but decided not to turn, the report said.
Minor damage was reported to the Kretchmar vehicle and disabling damage to the Johnson vehicle.
No injuries were reported.

August 28, 5:10 p.m. - At U.S. 81 and S.H. 33. Tyler Johnson, 34, Enid, driving a 2015 Ford, was northbound in the center lane of U.S. 81 and stopped at the traffic light at S.H. 33.
Melissa Wilczek, 35, Kingfisher, driving a 2019 Dodge Ram, was northbound on U.S. 81, directly behind the Johnson vehicle.
The Wilczek vehicle attempted to enter the left turn lane and its passenger side mirror struck the driver’s side door and mirror of the Johnson vehicle.
No damage was reported to the Wilczek vehicle and minor damage to the Johnson vehicle.
No injuries were reported.

August 29, 11:35 a.m. - At North Main Street and Admire Avenue.
A 15-year-old male, Kingfisher, driving a 2015 GMC Yukon, was northbound in the inside lane of North Main Street, near Admire Avenue.
Sami Darnell, 35, Hydro, driving a 2014 Chevrolet, was northbound in the outside lane of North Main Street.
The 15-year-old’s vehicle attempted to change lanes and struck the
Darnell vehicle in the front driver’s side.
Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported.
A licensed driver was called to transport the underage driver, the report said.

September 2, 8 a.m. - At U.S. 81 and Will Rogers Drive. A 17-year-old driver, Kingfisher, driving a 2006 Kia, was northbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81 at Will Rogers Drive intersection.
Thomas Rixleben, Kingfisher, 47, driving a 2015 Toyota, was southbound in the outside lane of U.S. 81 at Will Rogers Drive intersection.
The 17-year-old driver’s vehicle attempted to turn left onto West Will Rogers Drive and struck the Rixleben vehicle.
Functional damage was reported to the 17-year-old driver’s vehicle and disabling damage to the Rixleben vehicle.
No injuries were reported.

September 8, 1:15 p.m.
- At U.S. 81 and Hill Avenue.
Carol Kooken, 74, Kingfisher, driving a 2016 Buick Enclave, was southbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81.
Faith Crum, 21, Oklahoma City, driving a 2006 Suzuki, was northbound in the inside lane of U.S. 81.
The Kooken vehicle attempted to turn left into 1309 S. Main St. and was struck in the rear passenger side by the Crum vehicle.
Minor damage was reported to the Kooken vehicle and disabling damage to the Crum vehicle. No injuries were reported.

September 8, 2:05 p.m. - At South Mitchell Drive and Mitchell Boulevard.
Terry Long, 69, Kingfisher, driving a 2005 Dodge, was parked facing east along the south curb of Mitchell Boulevard.
Kathy Altizer, 52, King fisher, driving a 2009 Chevrolet, was eastbound on Mitchell Boulevard and struck the Long vehicle in the driver’s rear bumper.
Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported.

September 9, 7:30 a.m. - At 315 W. Overstreet Ave.
A 16-year-old driver, Kingfisher, driving a 2007 Saturn, was eastbound on Overstreet Avenue, departed the roadway to the right and struck the mailbox at 315 W. Overstreet.
No injuries were reported.

September 9, 2:30 p.m - At 1111 S. Main St. Clinton Duffy, 62, Dover, driving a 2001 Dodge, was exiting the parking lot of NAPA Auto Parts.
Scott Bonn, 33, Kingfisher, driving a 2009 Chevrolet, was attempting to back out of a parking space and struck the Duffy vehicle in passenger rear side.
Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported.

September 14, 6:40 p.m. - At South Eighth Street and West Oklahoma Avenue.
A 9-year-old male, Kingfisher, riding a bicycle, was northbound on South Eighth Street approaching the intersection of West Oklahoma Avenue.
Sharon Fankhauser, 50, Kingfisher, driving a 2016 Ford Escape, was westbound on West Oklahoma Avenue.
According to the report, the bicycle failed to yield at the intersection and the Fankhauser vehicle struck the back tire of 9-year-old’s bicycle.
The 9-year-old sustained non-incapacitating trunk, arm and leg injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher, where he was treated and released for minor injuries, the report said.
Disabling damage was reported to the bicycle and minor damage to the Fankhauser vehicle.

September 18, 10:29 a.m. - At South Eighth Street and West Locust Avenue.
Russ Sutton, 43, Piedmont, driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, was westbound on West Locust Avenue. Melissa Willson, 40, King fisher, driving a 2013 Dodge Dart, was northbound on South Eighth Street.
According to the report, the Sutton vehicle failed to yield at the intersection and struck the Willson vehicle in the passenger rear door.
Willson sustained possible trunk injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher by private vehicle.
Functional damage was reported to the Sutton vehicle and disabling damage to the Willson vehicle.

September 21, 1:00 a.m. - At U.S. 81 and S.H. 33.
Vincent Noe, 56, Cordell, driving a 2003 Peterbilt tractor-trailer, was stopped for the traffic signal in the inside lane of northbound U.S. 81 at the S.H. 33 intersection.
Francis Brown, 36, Watonga, driving a 2013 Chevrolet, was directly behind the Noe vehicle and attempted to merge into the left turn lane.
The Brown vehicle struck the Noe vehicle trailer in the driver’s side rear corner.
Minor damage was reported to the Noe vehicle and functional damage to the Brown vehicle. Brown sustained possible arm injuries.

September 23, 12:00 a.m. - At South Seventh Street and West Locust Avenue.
John Corrado, 53, Kingfisher, driving a 1998 Dodge Dakota, was southbound on South Seventh Street near the intersection of West Locust Avenue.
Crystal Smith, 41, Norman, driving a Chevrolet Equinox, was westbound on West Locust Avenue.
According to the report, the Smith vehicle failed to yield at the intersection and was struck by the Corrado vehicle.
Corrado was issued a citation for driving without a driver’s license.
Disabling damage was reported to both vehicles.
A passenger in the Corrado vehicle sustained possible trunk injuries was transported by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher.

September 26, 11:30 a.m. - At Briscoe Park and South 13th Street.
Raymond McDonald, 22, Kingfisher, driving a 2003 Ford F-150, was northbound on South 13th Street near Briscoe Park.
Juan Marquez-Flores, 21, Kingfisher, driving a 2013 Chevrolet, was eastbound approaching South 13th Street.
According to the report, Flores attempted a left turn onto South 13th Street and struck the front driver’s side of the McDonald vehicle.
Minor damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported.
