Traffic accidents
The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department:
September 25, 2:28 p.m. - At U.S. 81 and Chisholm Drive.
Cheyenne Ortega, 18, Hennessey, driving a 2008 Ford Focus, was was stopped in the inside lane of southbound U.S. 81, waiting to make a left into First Shamrock Care Center, 1415 S. Main St.
Allan Brodersen, 82, Okarche, driving a 2012 Chevrolet, was southbound on U.S. 81 directly behind the Ortega vehicle.
The Brodersen vehicle failed to yield and struck the Ortega vehicle, according to the report.
Minor damage was reported to the Brodersen vehicle and functional damage to the Ortega vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
Officer Dillon Chaloupek investigated the accident.
September 30, 12:10 a.m. - At U.S. 81 and Mitchell Boulevard.
Gregory Dejager, 39, Greenfield, Mo., driving a 2000 Peterbilt, was southbound in the outside lane of U.S. 81 and attempted to turn right onto Mitchell Boulevard.
Casey Charles, 38, Watauga, Texas, driving a 2018 Peterbilt, was southbound in the outside land of U.S. 81, with only one vehicle between his vehicle and the Dejager vehicle.
According to the report, the Charles vehicle was unable to slow sufficiently and swerved to the right to avoid a vehicle on the left and struck the rear axle of the Dejager vehicle’s trailer.
Disabling damage was reported to the Dejager vehicle and functional damage to the Charles vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
