Traveling for Thanksgiving? ODOT lists trouble spots
Although Thanksgiving road and air travel is shaping up to be significantly reduced from last year, Oklahoma Department of Transportation has identified potential bottlenecks for road travel through Sunday.
The following is the list of ODOT construction projects mostlikely to affect drivers in and around central and northwest Oklahoma through the holiday weekend.

• 1-35 narrowed to one lane near Tonkawa, Kay County.
• 1-35 is narrowed to one lane in each direction between US-60 (mile marker 214) near Tonkawa and SH-15 (mile marker 203) for bridge rehabilitation.
• I-35 ramp closed, lanes ramp shifted in Goldsby, McClain County.
• The northbound 1-35 off-ramp to SH-74 South (mile marker 104) are closed and north and southbound
• 1-35 lanes are shifted at SH-74 South in Goldsby forbridge rehabilitation and ramp reconstruction.
• 1-35 narrowed to one lane near Goldsby, McClain County.
• 1-35 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction at Ladd Road (mile marker 101) from 7 p.m. to midnight Sunday, Nov. 22, for bridge and ramp reconstruction.
• 1-35 narrowed to one lane in Purcell, McClain County.
• 1-35 is narrowed to one lane in each direction at SH-74 West (mile marker 91) in Purcell for bridge painting.
• 1-35 narrowed to one lane in Pauls Valley, Garvin County.
• 1-35 is narrowed to one lane in each direction at SH-19 (mile marker 72) in Pauls Valley for bridge rehabilitation.
• 1-35 narrowed to one lane near Davis, Garvin County.
• 1-35 is narrowed to one lane in each direction just north of SH-7 (mile marker 56) near Davis for bridge rehabilitation.
• 1-40 narrowed to one lane near Clinton, Custer County.
• East and westbound 1-40 is narrowed to one lane between Foss and Clinton for pavement reconstruction.
• 1-40 ramp intermittently closed in Weatherford,
• The eastbound .1-40 on-ramp from Main Street (mile marker 82) in Weatherford will be intermittently closed for reconstruction.
• U.S. 81 narrowed to one lane near US-412 in Enid, Garfield County.
• U.S. 81 is narrowed to one lane in each direction north of US-412 in Enid for reconstruction.
• U.S. 81/U.S. 60/U.S. 64 narrowed to one lane near Enid, Garfield County.
• U.S. 81/U.S. 60/U.S. 64 is narrowed to one lane in each direction between U.S. 45 near Enid and Keowee Road near Kremlin for pavement rehabilitation.
• S.H. 132 closed near Hillsdale, Garfield County. • S.H. 132 is closed west of Hillsdale for bridge reconstruction.
Oklahoma City Metro:
• 1-44 narrowed at SW 59th Street; 1-44 traffic affected south of 1-40 with lane, ramp closures
• Westbound 1-44 (runs south) is narrowed to two lanes at SW 59th Street (mile marker 116A) through late 2020 for bridge rehabilitation. (Motorists headed to Will Rogers World Airport along this route need to plan extra travel time or choose an alternate route, such as 1-35 to the east or SH-4 or the Kilpatrick Turnpike to the west.)
• 1-44 narrowed near Northwest Expressway
• East and westbound 1-44 is narrowed to two lanes between Northwest Expressway (mile marker 125B) and May Avenue (mile marker 124) through summer 2021 for a bridge project over Pennsylvania Ave.
• S.H. 66/39th Expressway narrowed to one lane at SH-74
• S.H. 66/39th Expressway is narrowed to one lane in each direction at SH-74/ Lake Hefner Pkwy through winter 2020 for bridge deck rehabilitation.
• 1-40 narrowed at Garth Brooks Boulevard; Frisco Road closed at 1-40 in Yukon.
• East and westbound 1-40 is narrowed to two lanes in each direction between Garth Brooks Boulevard (mile marker 136) and N. Cimarron Road (mile marker 132) in Yukon for ongoing construction through summer 2021. Motorists are advised to expect delays and lane shifts in the work zone.
• U.S. 81/1-40 Business/S.H. 66 bridge narrowed, lanes shifted at SE 22nd Street in El Reno
• North and southbound U.S. 81/1-40 Business/S.H. 66 traffic is shifted between SE 22nd Street and Elm Street in El Reno to a detour just to the east of the bridge through summer 2021 as part of an ongoing bridge replacement project. The detour is one lane in each direction and wide loads are restricted. Use extra caution in the detour, especially at the temporary railroad crossing near Elm Street, which will have lights and to warn drivers.
• S.H. 4/Piedmont Road lanes shifted near Britton Road near Yukon
• East and westbound Wilshire Boulevard is narrowed at S.H. 4 near Yukon through fall 2020 for intersection modification as part of a S.H. 4 bridge and realignment project. Traffic is routed onto S.H. 4 for immediate access onto Wilshire Boulevard at the intersection. Motorists should expect delays and congestion in the area and are urged to use extra caution as S.H. 4 traffic does not stop at the intersection.
