Warrant issued on assault charge
A warrant was issued last week for the arrest of a Kingfisher man charged with allegedly trapping his girlfriend in the bathroom of their residence and hitting her with a hammer.
Andrew Do’Shon Burns, 24, 216 N. 10th St., was charged last Monday in Kingfisher County District Court with domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and kidnapping.
Burns allegedly burst in on his girlfriend Kelsie Carlock when she was in the bathroom of their home about 3 a.m. April 21, according to an affidavit signed by Kingfisher Police Officer Justin Conner.
Carlock told police that Burns started pulling her around, punching and kicking her and hitting her head on the bathtub.
He then allegedly threw her into the bathtub and went into the kitchen to get a hammer and came back in and hit her on the arm. Carlock said then she tried to leave the home on foot with her children, but Burns allegedly chased her down the street, yelling and screaming, so she returned home, according to the affidavit.
Later that morning, Car-lock and her children were picked up by her mother.
Police observed bruises on Carlock’s arm, hand and elbow, according to the affidavit.
If convicted, Burns faces up to 10 years in prison on the domestic abuse charge and up to 20 years on the kidnapping charge.
