It never fails.

Not five minutes after we sent our final page to our printer and were beyond the point of return, the OSSAA announced major changes to postseason schedules in wrestling, basketball and swimming.

That meant the information in last Wednesday’s edition regarding basketball districts and regionals as well as wrestling regionals was outdated before the ink dried.

Fortunately, we were able to inform readers via our social media outlets, but those who don’t use social media had to find out through other means.

Wrestling regionals are facing their second round of postponements. They were originally scheduled Feb. 12-13, but pushed back a week.

Inclement weather forced yet another delay and now the regionals will be Saturday, Feb. 20, and Monday, Feb. 22.

Time and formats will remain the same as wrestlers in the seven lightest weight classes will compete on the first day.

The second day is reserved for brackets in the seven largest weight classes.

All basketball playoff games were also delayed, but by at least two days.

The Class A and B regionals were supposed to be held Thursday-Saturday of last week.

They’ll now begin on Saturday and will also be contested Monday and Tuesday.

Area tournaments for those classes are still slated to start Thursday.

The district tournaments for 2A-4A were scheduled for Feb. 19-20.

However those teams set to play this past Friday will now compete Monday, Feb. 22.

Those set to play Saturday - which is all local teams - now play Tuesday, Feb. 23.

Regional tournaments for those classes begin Thursday.

Girls

Okarche vs. Thomas, 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20

Boys

Okarche vs. Thomas, 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20

(Note: The remainder of each regional tournament will be contested Monday and Tuesday of this week.)

Class 2A

Area I District

Crescent at Watonga, 6 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23

(Note: Crescent’s firstround regional games will be Thursday at Morrison. The remainder of the regional will be played Friday and Saturday in Fairview.)

Stroud at Hennessey, 6 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23

(Note: Hennessey will host a regional Thursday-Saturday of this week.)

(Note: Cashion received a bye for its district and advances to the regional in the winner’s bracket. Cashion hosts regional games on Thursday before it moves to Latta on Friday and Saturday)
