Weather impacts show schedule
The schedule for the Kingfisher County Spring Livestock Show has been modified to accommodate expected extreme weather conditions.
Originally scheduled to be completed this weekend, the schedule has been modified to bracket the worst period of the anticipated weather system.
Goats and sheep will show this weekend, while cattle and swine will show Feb. 23 and 24.
Goats and sheep will be allowed to show out of their trailers, but exhibitors mustbe ready to show at the designated time.
SHOW SCHEDULE
Friday, Feb. 12
3-7 p.m. Sheep and goats can be moved into the East Wing of the MaCenter.
Saturday, Feb. 13
8 a.m. Goats in place.
8:30 a.m. Goat weigh-in.
9:30 a.m. Goat show order — market wethers, does, showmanship.
11 a.m. Doe fitting contest; sheep weigh-in cards due.
Noon Sheep show order — purebred ewes, commercial ewes, market wethers, showmanship.
Tuesday, Feb. 23
7 a.m. Barns open for cattle.
11 a.m. All cattle in place, all cards due, steer and commercial heifer weigh-in.
1 p.m. Cattle show order — Prospect steers, market steers, breeding heifers, showmanship; fitting contest follows conclusion of sale order.
Wednesday, Feb. 24
7 a.m. Swine admitted on the fairgrounds.
9:30 a.m. Weigh-in cards turned in.
11 a.m. Swine show order — Market barrows, purebred gilts, commercial gilts, showmanship.
All premium sale qualifiers and alternates will take pictures after being selected in each livestock division.
