Alvin Leo Stribel, Jr., Hennessey, 81, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020.

He was born Sept. 9, 1938, to Alvin and Golda Stribel.

Alvin was raised on the family farm in Hennessey where he attended school and would live throughout his life. He attended college in Weatherford and Stillwater and then joined the U.S. Navy.

He was stationed in Hawaii where he met and married Jean Irene Ray. They returned to the family farm where they raised their four children.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, Mary Grace Stribel.

He is survived by his wife Jean; one sister, Glenda Mitchell; four children, Ray Stribel and wife Teresa, Paula Copas, Joe Stribel, Leah Kostiuk; and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Recitation of the Rosary was Thursday, Aug. 13 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, Aug. 14, at St. Joseph’s officiated by Rev. Ed Menasco and Rev. Carl Jenocha.

Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
