Antoinette Marie Lodes passed away at St. Ann’s Nursing Home in Oklahoma City April 21, 2019.

She was born to John and Anna (Rother) Rueter on Feb. 25, 1919, in Okarche and lived her entire life in Okarche until age 99.

She was actively involved with Holy Trinity Catholic Church attending daily Mass her entire life. She was a member of the Altar Society, and taught the rosary to second grade.

She was an avid OU football fan, enjoyed crocheting, gardening and maintaining a pristine lawn. She especially enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was particularly proud of Blessed Father Stanley Rother, her second cousin. When asked about her secret to a long life, she would respond with: daily exercise and praying her rosary.

Antoinette worked as a bookkeeper for Borelli Butane and her favorite job was working for the Okarche Clinic for 18 years, retiring in 1986.

Her husband, Paul Matthew Lodes, parents, and siblings Elizabeth Hoehner, Joe Rueter, Barbara Scheirman, Patricia Mueggenborg and Mary Kraus preceded her in death.

Antionette is survived by her sons and their wives: Mike and Jane Lodes of Shawnee, Ron and Susan Lodes of Yukon, Don and Pat Lodes of Tulsa, and Tim and Kathy Lodes of Oklahoma City; and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Thanks to all the caring staff of St. Ann’s, Mercy Hospice and especially Jim Leeds.

Wake service was Wednesday and funeral Mass Thursday; both services at Holy Trinity Church with Rev. Stephen Bird and Deacon Max Schwarz officiating. Burial was in Holy Trinity Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home, El Reno.

In lieu of flowers a donation to The Center of Family Love or Holy Trinity would be appreciated.
