August Willms

August Willms was born to Ruth Biehler Willms and Joseph H. Willms in Kingfisher, on Jan.14, 1942. He passed away Dec. 7, 2019 in Oklahoma City surrounded by loved ones.

August was baptized as an infant at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He grew up on the Willms farm in the Big Four Community where he enjoyed gathering eggs and taking care of his chickens. He always liked riding his bike to get the mail. He usually had a favorite dog or cat that he claimed. He moved to Choctaw with his sister Marlene and her husband Dale in 1993. There he enjoyed fishing, zoo visits, Oklahoma State fairs, Special Olympics, etc.

He loved going to adult daycare at Oklahoma Foundation for The Disabled for 16 plus years. There Georgia, Lola, Michelle and other caring staff made him and the other clients feel so special and loved.

August was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters; Theodora Willms, Mary Jo Cole and husband Charles, and Martha Ruth Thacker and husband Ron, brother Jim Willms, and brother-in-law Jack Field.

August is survived by three sisters; Margaret Field of Oklahoma City, Marlene Hildebrand and husband Dale of Choctaw, Marciadean Harrison and husband Richard of Burleson, Texas, sister-in-law Colleen Willms of Kingfisher, along with many nieces and nephews and one very special niece Ruth Hildebrand Belcher.

Funeral Services will be officiated by Rev. Timothy Mc-Carty at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Kingfisher, on Dec. 12, 2019 at 10 a.m., under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
