Betty Zoe Waters was born Nov. 22, 1926, in Davenport and departed this life on May 11, 2020, at the Homestead Assisted Living in Wellington, Kan. She was 93 years old.

Betty was the daughter of Alfred Parks and Mildred Leona (Townsley) Waters.

Betty attended school in Davenport, graduating in 1944.

She married her high school sweetheart Ronald (Mac) in December 1946. They resided in California, Caldwell, Kan., Kentucky and Kingfisher.

To this union, a daughter, Debbie, and son, Denny, were born.

Betty was a remarkable mom and homemaker.

She worked for State Farm Insurance before having a long career in the Peoples National Bank in Kingfisher.

After she retired, she moved back to Caldwell where she was very active in the United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens Center.

Betty and Charles Grimm were united in marriage in 1984. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, three sisters, her husbands Mac and Charles, stepdaughter Reta and a great-granddaughter Addison McDorman.

Betty is survived by her daughter Debbie (Mitch) Smith and son Denny (Terre) McDorman; grandchildren Jeff (Mendy) Smith, Jay Smith, Brian Smith, Darren (Keira) McDorman, Dana (Ryan) Krause, and Danny (Staci) McDorman; great-grandchildren Andrew, Ashlee, Rylee, Dylan, Kelby, Gracie and Kinslie; sister Anna Lou Swann; sisters-in-law Betty Waters, Darlene McDorman and Lela Mae Baker; many nieces and nephews and cousins. She also has special stepdaughters Anita and Charlene.

Following cremation, a private family service will be held at a later time.

Memorials may be made in Betty’s name to the Caldwell United Methodist Church, Caldwell Senior Citizens Center or to the Davenport Alumni Association and sent in care of the mortuary.
