    Delbert Yarbrough

Delbert Warren Yarbrough was born Oct. 26, 1957, in Kingfisher to Willy and Zetha Yarbrough. He passed away Nov. 27, 2020, at the age of 63.

Delbert was raised in Kingfisher until his teen years.

In high school, he went to live with his sister Jin Ella in Maryland, where he graduated from Friendly High. Upon graduation, he moved back home to Kingfisher.

He later met and fell in love with Patricia Brooks, with whom he had two sons, Delbert Don and Sean Keith.

Delbert dedicated his life to raising his sons. He worked hard at various jobs throughout his life and finally retired from Temtrol in Okarche after 19 years.

Delbert enjoyed working on the family farm tending to his cattle, hogs and chickens. He also loved to fish, go rabbit hunting and go to the casino with his brothers.

He was extremely proud of all of his grandchildren and wouldn’t hesitate to brag about them to anyone he talked to.

He never met anyone he didn’t like. He had a way of making you feel like family, always greeting you with a smile and a hug, no matter how long or how little he knew you.

Delbert has left a void in the lives of all who knew and loved him. Even though he no longer walks this earth, his smile and love will forever live in our hearts.

Delbert is survived by: his children, Sean Yarbrough of Kingfisher; Don and Tyffany Yarbrough and their daughters Ahlyvea, Ahlyssa, MaKylah, MaKynze and Adasidy of Mustang; Lori Brooks and her sons Milan, Marlon and William of El Reno. Also, siblings John Yarbrough of Oklahoma City; Dave Yarbrough of Detroit, Mich.; Marcellus, Michael, Larry, Duane and Ricky Yarbrough, all of Kingfisher; Sheila Yarbrough of Modesto, Calif.; and Jin Ella Yarbrough of Ft. Worth, Texas; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Anthony and William Yarbrough and sisters Marie and Ruby Belle Yarbrough.

Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 4, at the First Baptist Church, Kingfisher. Burial followed at Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
