Elaine Mary Baustert Gerber was born on July 23, 1951, to Paul H. Baustert and Mary Agnes (Rother) Baustert.

As a child she attended Holy Trinity Catholic School in Okarche and she graduated from Okarche High School in 1969. Upon graduation, Elaine attended the St. Anthony School of Nursing and received her RN diploma in 1972.

She subsequently taught classes at Francis Tuttle Technology Center and then worked at the Gerber Family Clinic, all while taking on the most important job of raising her family.

She was a fiery redhead whose passion for her family and children was second only to the unconditional love she showered upon them.

She was on fire for Christ and took every opportunity to share God’s love with all she encountered. She lived her life as a good and faithful servant, always offering her time and talents to the church.

Elaine was a member of the Kingfisher Federated Church and was a driving force behind the Mission Committee.

Elaine was the embodiment of zeal and kindness.

She and her twin sister, Elise, were inseparable from birth to nursing school to their double wedding to living within just a few miles of each other.

She had a passion for junk shopping, antiquing and planting fl owers that she has passed on to several of her nieces and nephews who all lovingly refer to her as “Crazy Aunt Laine.”

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Agnes Baustert, sisters Martha and Paula Baustert, and son Eric John Gerber.
