Imogene ‘Jean’ Scruggs

The funeral for Imogene “Jean” Scruggs, 85, Hennessey, was Friday, Sept. 11, at First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. P. J. Stewart and Rev. Jimmy Berkenbile.

Graveside services followed at Greenhill Cemetery in Lindsay under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.

Jean was born in Lindsay on Aug. 4, 1935, to William A. and Clara Imogene Adams Eastwood and died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020, at Hennessey Care Center. She married Arlis Scruggs in Lindsay on Aug. 30, 1952.

The couple later moved to Hennessey. They started Rayco Services in 1969. Jean is survived by two sons, Arlan Scruggs and wife Terri of Hennessey and Rory Scruggs and wife Barbara of Coweta; two sisters-in-law, Joy and Jewel; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Allen Scruggs, three brothers and one sister.
