James Baker
James Edward Baker was born Jan. 13, 1959, in Pauls Valley to Wesley and Shirley Baker. He passed away at his home in Cashion on March 1, 2026, at the age of 67.
He was a longtime resident of Cashion and a 1977 graduate of Cashion High School.
James loved sports and received a football scholarship to the University of Central Oklahoma. After college, he went to work in the oilfield like his brother and dad.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Baker; father, Wesley Baker; and niece, Valerie Hill.
He is survived by his brother, Marty Baker of Cashion; sister, Sherry Murray and Ronnie Murray of Kingfisher; brother, Doyle Baker of Oklahoma City; sister, Gayla Hill of Guthrie; niece, Brandi Krittenbrink and Brian Krittenbrink of Okarche; nephew, Justin Baker of Cashion; niece, Holly Drake of Cashion; niece, Kelley Farrar and Wade Farrar of Cashion; nephew, Shannon Murray of Muskogee; niece, Ronna Farrow and Donald Farrow of Edmond; niece, Crystal Farrow and Darryl Farrow of Kingfisher; nephew, John Murray and Emily Murray of Piedmont; and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
James will be remembered for not only his character but his personality. He loved to make you laugh with his jokes and loved to talk politics.
Visitation for James will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, March 9, at Sanders Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at Cashion Christian Church at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, with Pastor Mark Westman officiating. Burial to follow at Cashion Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Services.
