    Jeanette Sain

Jeanette Rose Sain was born April 23, 1935, in Kingfisher.

She was the last of five children born to Jay and Helen Sain.

Jeanette passed away May 12, 2020, in Corsicana, Texas, shortly after her long time friend, Janice Elder. She was 85.

Jeanette attended St. Anthony nursing school following her graduation from Kingfisher High School and later completed her training and served as a Sister of St. Francis in Maryville, Mo.

Next, Jeanette proudly served her country in the United States Air Force.

She was active duty in the Philippines and England.

She was a proud American and through her dedication reached the rank of major.

Her superior officers’ endorsements included praise for her intelligence, professionalism and motivation to train and learn all that she could to assist the medical staff and soldiers.

She followed her military service with another wonderfully fulfilling career in Corsicana as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She established clinics and programs with the Texas County Health Department to help babies and their mothers and was presented many awards and accolades for her work.

Her big brothers and sisters – Francis, Richard, Mary Joe and John – preceded her in death.

Jeanette leaves behind nieces and nephews who loved and adored her and her best friend and sister-in-law, Carol Bagley.

She was such a happy and positive person who never said a bad word about anyone.

Jeanette was a devoted Christian and will be welcomed into the arms of many that went before her, but she will be missed here on Earth until we see her again.

There will be a graveside memorial service at Kingfisher Cemetery at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11.
