Joseph Bernard Vadder III, 73, Hennessey, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Hennessey Care Center.

Born Nov. 11, 1952, in Enid, Joe was the son of the late Edwin and Minnie (McCormac) Vadder.

He was a lifelong resident of Hennessey and graduated from Hennessey High School in 1971.

On Aug. 8, 1973, he married Rebecca Haymaker and they shared a beautiful life together for 41 years until her death in 2014.

Joe was dedicated to his family, his community and farming.

He served as a member of the Hennessey Co-Op board, Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, Oklahoma Wheat Growers Association and was an FFA booster.

He took great pride in his farms and especially loved raising cattle, wheat and alfalfa.

Joe was a man of deep faith and had most recently served as a deacon at Dover Christian Church where he was an active member prior to his illness.

He is survived by his sons Joe Vadder and wife Christy of Westminster, Md., Sam Vadder and wife Lysse of Enid and Karl Vadder and wife Lacy of Hennessey; grandchildren Henry and Michael Vadder of Westminster and Karci, Leilie and Vandin Vadder of Hennessey; two sisters, Starlet Jamison and Linda Racer and husband Vernon, all of Hennessey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Rebecca, brothers Edwin Vadder and Davy Joe Vadder and sisters Peggy Winter and Joyce Davis.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at Dover Christian Church with Jimmy Berkenbile and Pastor Drake Colvin officiating.

A private graveside service at Oak View Cemetery preceded the memorial service. Cremation arrangements were by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to Dover Christian Church with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
