Funeral mass for Julia Suzanne “Julie” Kraus was Tuesday, March 10, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kingfisher with Father Francis Nguyen and Father Aaron Foshee officiating.

Interment followed at the Kingfisher Cemetery

Julie was born Aug. 15, 1956, in Okarche to Joseph Edward and Margie Louise (Buettner) Soudek.

She died from injuries received in a motor vehicle accident on Monday, March 2, 2020 near Wayne, at the age of 63 years, six months and 17 days.

Julie and James Francis Kraus were married Jan. 17, 1975, in Kingfisher.

Julie grew up in Kingfisher, where she graduated from high school.

She spent many years working at the State Farm Insurance Agency prior to working 20 years for the Kingfisher County Assessor’s Office.

Following her retirement from the assessor’s office, Julie and Jim moved from Kingfisher to Davis to be near their daughters.

Upon moving to Davis, she spent a few years working at Disco Automotive in Sulphur before fully retiring to be a full-time wife, mom and “Meme.”

Julie was a very loving wife. She and Jim celebrated 45 years of marriage in January 2020.

They cherished their life together. She enjoyed out-fishing Jim every chance she had; as well as going on many adventures with him.

Julie loved to travel and spend time with their lifelong, best friends, Greg and Debbie Farrell.

In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafting and baking cookies.

Of all the things she loved in life, her family was what she loved the most.

Julie always put others first. She made sure everyone else was happy and taken care of.

Survivors include her husband, Jim of Davis; three daughters, Karla Scott and husband Jason and Brenda Williams and husband Stephen, both of Davis, and Kristy Livingston of Kingfisher; son Jimmy Kraus of Kingfisher; mother Margie Soudek of Oklahoma City; 12 grandchildren, Kelsey Scott, Jesse Scott, Bradly Williams, Blake Williams, Tyler Williams, Ryan Williams and Grace Williams, all of Davis, James Kraus and wife Ariel of Goessel, Kan., Holli Stitt and husband Nick, and Landon Livingston, Colton Livingston, and Braydon Livingston, all of Kingfisher; one sister, Jodie McKleroy and husband John of Oklahoma City, and one brother, J.E. Soudek and wife Linda of Kingfisher.

Julie was preceded in death by her father, Joseph E. Soudek as well as her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Francis and Mary Mae Kraus.

Serving as pallbearers were James Kraus, Bradly Williams, Blake Williams, Tyler Williams, Jesse Scott, Ryan Williams, Landon Livingston, Colton Livingston and Braydon Livingston.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Building Fund, 309 S. Main St, Kingfisher, OK, 73750.
