The memorial service for Larry Matthews, 65, will be 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Dover Christian Church officiated by Rev. Fred Jones.

Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.

Viewing was Tuesday and Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation followed.

Larry was born Jan. 11, 1955, to Luther Matthews and Reba Mumford and died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, at his home in Dover.

He married his “Ole Lady” Jeanne McKee on July 29, 1974, in Gainesville, Texas.

Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, hanging out with family and going to the casino.

Larry is survived by his wife Jeanne of the home; two sons, Steve Matthews and wife Kim and their children Jaden and Jaret of Hennessey, and Timmy Matthews and wife Kira and their children Mason, Declan and Owen of Kingfisher; his mother Reba Mumford of Wayne; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Jerry and Sherlene McKee of Dover; siblings Debbie Cullums of Bowlegs, twin brother Garry Matthews and wife Donna of Dover, Rita Russell and husband Jr. of Del City, Rhonda Green of Hennessey, Neva Hailey and husband David of Dover; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bret and Shelly McKee of Mississippi; uncle Sonny Mumford of Wayne; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his father Luke Matthews, niece Amber Matthews, and great-nephew Kadin Copeland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Larry’s name to the National Kidney Foundation with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
