Leroy William Smith was born June 10, 1960, at St. Anthony’s Hospital to Phyllis (Jackson) and Arnold Smith. He passed away Jan. 10, 2021, at the age of 60 at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City.

Leroy was raised in Okarche and graduated from Okarche High School in 1978.

He started working on the farm, driving a tractor and combine at age 7. He worked as a roughneck and retired from ODOT and also worked for LuGreg Trucking and Firestone Trucking hauling saltwater.

Leroy lived at his home with a beautiful view and his cats in Hinton since 2017.

His first deer camp was at age 14 and he fell in love with it. Leroy enjoyed fishing and swimming at Lost Lake and Cedar Lake. He also loved flying in the plane with his dad and listening to music, especially jazz.

Leroy was preceded in death by his mother.

He is survived by his father, sister Vicky and husband Tom, brothers Terry and Kurt, nieces Cassi and Katie, nephews Johny and Jaron, great-nephews Kaleb and Liam and great-nieces Lilly and Kre.

Graveside service was held Saturday, Jan. 16, at Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary of Yukon.
