Loretta Margaret Schaefer died Jan. 30, 2020, at Cimarron Nursing Center in Kingfisher.

The prayer service was held Sunday and Mass of Christian Burial on Monday.

Both services were at Holy Trinity Church with Rev. Cory Stanley and Deacon Max Schwarz officiating.

Burial was in Holy Trinity Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Loretta was born Sept. 23, 1929, in Okarche where she was a lifelong resident.

She was a laboratory technician at the Okarche Clinic for 20 years and an artist.

She painted landscapes and florals in oil and her paintings have been displayed at the Oklahoma State Capitol and 50 Penn Place and other galleries in Oklahoma City and Taos, N.M.

Her family and friends also enjoy her paintings in their homes.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, singing in the Chancel Choir for 60 years, Altar Society and Oklahoma City Art Guild.

On Jan. 11, 1950, Loretta married John Francis Schaefer. Francis preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 2007.

Her parents, Joseph Theodore and Anna Elizabeth (Mueggenborg) Voss, and brothers James Voss and Robert Voss, also preceded her in death.

Loretta is survived by her children and their spouses, Paul and Rae Schaefer of Edmond, Steven and Kathryn Schaefer of Ardmore, Carol and Harry Moore of Norman, Joanie and John Meyer of Okarche, and John and Lenda Schaefer, also of Okarche; brother and sisters-in-law Joe and Cecelia Voss of El Reno, Lavada Voss of Edmond and Mary Ann Voss of Yukon; and 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
