Marjorie Elizabeth French, 97, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, at Weston County Manor in Wyoming.

Marge was born Jan. 1, 1923, on a farm near Dill City.

Her parents were George W. Frisby and Helen Bonnell Frisby.

She had one sister, Mary Jo Frisby.

Marge worked for the Civil Service Commission in Washington, D.C., and Dallas, Texas, during World War II.

She married Albert “Jiggs” Wakeman in Dallas in February 1946.

In 1948, Marge and Jiggs moved to Kingfisher to farm and raise their family.

Marge worked for the same law firm as a legal secretary in Kingfisher for 42 years, retiring in May 1999. Jiggs passed away Feb.

Jiggs passed away Feb. 1, 1998, one day shy of 52 years of marriage.

Marge married Lewis French in December 1999 and moved to Mississippi.

She moved to Newcastle, Wyo., in August 2016.

Preceding her in death were her parents and both husbands. She is survived by sis

She is survived by sister Mary Jo McLerran of Cordell; son Larry Thomas Wakeman of Duncan; daughter Ruth (Tom) Ralls of Newcastle, Wyo.; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins from all over.

A memorial service will be held in Kingfisher at a later date.
