Mark Smith
Mark David Smith passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2026, at the age of 65. He was born Jan. 28, 1961, in Kingfisher to Kenneth and Jo Ann (née Tharp) Smith. A lifelong resident of Kingfisher, Mark joined the National Guard before graduating from Kingfisher High School.
Mark worked as a plumber throughout his life. Early on, he worked alongside his father in the family business, helping build homes across Oklahoma.
In time, he established his own company, Mark’s Plumbing.
Mark was known for his kindness and loyalty. He cared deeply about his family and found great joy in time spent together. He made sure his home was always ready when his grandchildren came to visit, preparing the house so it felt welcoming and special.
The Fourth of July meant fireworks. Christmas meant a simple but thoughtful setup. And when the grandchildren arrived, the gocarts were ready. These traditions created lasting memories and reflect the love he showed through quiet actions.
He loved spending time outdoors, especially on any lake he could get to, and he was always ready for a music festival. Whether surrounded by family, friends or good music under an open sky, he was in his element.
He is survived by his mother, Jo Ann Smith, and his wife, Arleene White Smith.
He is also survived by his children, Holly and Chris Yanneta and Amber and Randy Copeland; grandchildren Abigail Yannetta, Logan Yanneta, Lynzee Franklin and Koda Franklin.
Mark is further survived by his siblings Dana and Bill Holt, Dawn and Bill Reitz and Amy and Bryan Hankins, as well as his wife’s siblings, Earl White, Elmer and Karleen White, Elaine and Mark Huffer, Marolyn and David Lambert and Carolyn and Greg Miller.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Services were held at the Federated Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21.
