Melissa Lawson Biller, 55, Okarche, died April 1, 2020.

She was born Feb. 23, 1965, in Chapel Hill, N.C., to Ken and Linda Watts Lawson.

She was raised in Atlanta, Ga., New Orleans, La., Dallas, Texas, Destin, Fla., and Okarche.

She graduated from Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas in 1982 and from El Reno Junior College as a registered nurse in 1992.

Melissa worked as an emergency room RN in Denton Community Hospital in Denton, Texas, from 1992-1997 and at Ft. Walton Beach Community Hospital in Florida from 1997-2004.

She eventually took medical retirement due to rheumatoid arthritis.

Melissa was raised and achieved most of her dreams in big cities, but always knew her true self was in Okarche.

This was the place that she had both of her children and her grandchild, who was the love of her life.

Okarche was the place that calmed her and kept her centered in her final years.

Melissa was preceded in death by her mother.

She is survived by her father; her husband of 35 years, Mark Biller; son Preston Biller and wife Sarah; daughter Katherine Waters and husband Chad; her super wonderful granddaughter Alicia Waters; brothers Ken and Henry Lawson; sisters Jennifer Longnecker and Hollie Howard; and lots of Billers, Lawsons and friends who will miss her.

There are currently no plans for services.

The family asks memorial donations in Melissa’s name be made to The Center of Family Love, 635 West Texas Ave., Okarche, OK 73762 or online at centeroffamilylove.org.
