Norbert Grellner
Norbert David Grellner was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Okarche to John and Rose Alig-Grellner.
He passed away peacefully at home in Okarche on Feb. 11, 2026, at the age of 89. Norbert married the love of his life, Patricia Bomhoff, on Jan. 28, 1961. Together they shared more than 65 years of marriage and built a life centered on family and hard work.
Norbert proudly served his country as a member of the 45th Army Infantry Division of the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
Following his military service, he devoted the remainder of his life to farming and ranching.
He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and the Kingfisher County Cattleman’s Association, refl ecting his faith, dedication to agriculture and deep love for his cattle.
In addition to ranching, Norbert enjoyed golfing and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His steady presence, quiet strength and devotion to his family will be deeply missed.
Norbert was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rose Grellner, and his sisters and brothers-in-laws Barbara (Pat) Weaver, Flossie (Robert) Rother, Regina (Paul) Schwarz and Rosie (Kirk) Pinkerton.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Patricia Grellner, of the home; his children Linda (Elved) Walck, Debbie Altebaumer, and Kenny Grellner (April Owens); grandchildren Kaci Kretchmar, Kyle Kretchmar, Stratton Walck, Heather (Kyle) Byrd, Holly (Cameron) McBride, Mitchell Altebaumer, Dustin (Kaylena) Grellner, and Paige Grellner; great- grandchildren, Kyson, Henzley, Hazlyn and Keston Byrd, Kamdynn, Everly, Creed and Charlotte McBride, Savannah Grellner and honorary great-grandchild Gabrielle.
Norbert is also survived by his siblings Joe (Marion) Grellner, Paul Grellner, Dorothy (Jerry) Coffey, Donna (Merlin) Collins and Gerry (Gary) Mueggenborg.
A wake service was Sunday, Feb. 15, and Mass celebrating his life was Monday, Feb. 16, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche with Fr. Zachary Boazman officiating. Burial followed at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Okarche.
The family requests donations be made in Norbert’s name to the Center of Family Love.
