    VETERAN — Robert ‘Bob’ Murray

Robert Hugh “Bob” Murray was born Aug. 13, 1927, at Union City to Dale and Florence Murray and passed away Dec. 24, 2020, at Countrywood Assisted Living in Kingfisher.

Bob was one of five children and grew up in Dover and then moved to Oklahoma City.

Bob joined the U.S. Navy his junior year of high school and fought during Pearl Harbor. After the war, Bob came home and graduated high school at Omega.

On Sept. 1, 1948, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Klinnert, in Kingfisher. They celebrated their 70th anniversary one day before her death on Sept. 2, 2018.

Bob was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa and friend.

In early years, he farmed and did carpentry work in the Omega area, where Bob and Ruth made their home for their family. In later years, they attended all of their grandsons’, Matt and Craig Murray, school activities.

Bob is survived by his two sons, Mike Murray and wife Debbie and Richard Murray and wife Sherrill; grandsons Matt Murray and wife Andrea and Craig Murray and wife Kaci; great-grandchildren Braxton, Breckon and Kaitlynn Murray, Kye and Kru Murray, all of Omega, Logan McMeen, Ft. Worth, Texas, Forrest Head of Callisburg, Texas, and four great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters and two brothers.

Graveside services with military honors were Monday, Dec. 28, at the Kingfi sher Cemetery with Rev. Fred Jones offi ciating. Services were under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home, El Reno.
