From an early age, Ruth was taught the value of hard work. She milked the cows before going to school each morning.

She loved to tell the story how her father paid her a penny to stay quiet about a little bootlegging that was going on. She said a penny bought a lot of candy back

When he became the water superintendent for the Town of Okarche, she helped by sending hand-written water bills to each resident and business.

She also took care of the Okarche wading pool.

Her grandchildren enjoyed going with her and helping her test the chlorine and alkaline levels of the pool each morning.

She spent time as a substitute teacher at Holy Trinity Catholic School and was also caregiver of Ms. Lenore Robb for many years until her death.

Ruth loved to laugh and enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed holding each baby born into her family.

She willbe deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
