Sharon Gundlach
Sharon Elaine (Chalker) Gundlach, born Jan. 5, 1947, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026.
A celebration of life was held Sunday, March 8, at Loyal United Methodist Church.
She was a devoted wife, mother, granny, great granny, sister, daughter and a faithful servant of her church and community.
Sharon was born to Ivan and Lois Chalker and was raised with the strong values of faith, family and dedication that would guide her throughout her life.
On July 16, 1966, she married the love of her life, Jerry August Gundlach, Sr. Together they built a life rooted in commitment, laughter and unwavering support for one another.
A lifelong member of Loyal United Methodist Church, Sharon faithfully served her church family for many years. She taught Sunday school, nurturing young hearts with patience and kindness, and was an active member of the ladies group.
Her faith was the foundation of her life and a light to everyone who knew her.
Sharon’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished cooking with her granddaughters, creating not only delicious meals, but treasured memories around the kitchen table.
She enjoyed skeet and trap shooting with her grandson and fishing trips with her boys and grandchildren. Whether on the water, in the kitchen or at church, Sharon’s love was evident in the time and attention she gave so freely.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Chalker; her father, Ivan Chalker; and her brother, Neil Chalker.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry August Gundlach, Sr.; her son, Jerry August Gundlach, Jr., and wife Lisa of Norman; her son, Jason Gundlach and wife Lupita of Loyal; her cherished grandchildren Justin, Jala, Julia, Colby and Caden; and her great-grandchild, Waylon.
She’s also survived by her brother Bill Chalker and wife Jo of Oklahoma City; her brother-in-law Fred Gundlach of Kansas and wife Yondolan; her sister-inlaw Sue Gerlach of Kansas and husband Eddie; and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon will be remembered for her steady faith, her generous heart, her strength and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the memories she helped create.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
