Wanda Jean (Brawley) Haskins, 89, passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, with family at her bedside, after a short illness.

She was born June 6, 1932, in Oakwood to Rev. Harold Brawley and Rev. Berta.

She graduated from Braman High School.

Wanda married LeRoy Haskins Dec. 27, 1951. They were married 58 years and raised four children.

Wanda went back to school and earned her LPN degree in 1973. She moved to Okeene and worked as director of nursing at Buchanan Nursing Home until retirement.

She was most recently a member at Asbury United Methodist Church in Ardmore, where she was active in choir, working with youth, directing plays and UMW.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Glen Haskins and sisters Leota Winchester and Berta O’Donnell.

Survivors include daughters LaVerna Cushman and husband Mark of Norman, Betty Taber and husband Tim of Ardmore; sons Le-Roy Haskins and wife Alice of Edmond, Larry Haskins and wife Brenda of Enid; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was Thursday, Dec. 2, at Hennessey United Methodist Church and officiated by Pastor Randal Richards & Rev. P. J. Stewart.

Burial followed at the Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
