Census Returns Important, Easy to Do
We turned in our 2020 Census forms early.
Full disclosure. I didn’t. Christine did, sending it right back in. She’s wa-a-a-y smart ... but you don’t have to be a genius to complete your census form.
Whiney disclaimer: I would have completed the form if I had seen it first.
Honest confession: If it had been up to me, the form might still be laying on a shelf somewhere.
All this aside, there are good reasons to complete and return the U.S. Census.
For one thing, if we don’t get our names on the rolls, Oklahoma (and Kingfisher County) won’t get back their fair share of the tax money paid to the government. We will remain a “donor” state for important construction programs like highways and airfields.
We really don’t like to be so “giving” as to let crummy places like New York City and Portland, Ore. (just for instance) get the money we paid in. We don’t want such places to have a lop-sided number of representatives in Congress, either, when sensible people Oklahoma would send to Congress would have a much better handle on how to solve the nation’s problems. Oklahomans have common sense, which appears to be in short supply in many other places in the country. And we didn’t even mention California.
As the chief in charge of the 2020 census in Oklahoma pointed out in a recent article, the results will show the government and developers where communities need new schools, new clinics, new roads, and more services for families, older adults, and children.
The results also will determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding are allocated to more than 100 programs, including Medicaid, Head Start, block grants for community mental health services, highway road and bridge construction, school lunches and on and on.
The state response average is currently 56.6%, lagging behind the national average of 62.2%, the state office says. But Kingfisher County’s response rate is even lower,
But Kingfisher County’s response rate is even lower, with just 52.9% of county residents submitting census data.
It doesn’t cost anything to be counted in the census and it might even save us some tax dollars in the long run. If you’re like I would have been and just put the form
If you’re like I would have been and just put the form up to fill out later, there’s no better time than now to do it. Besides completing it could get you out of the heat and humidity in the middle of the day.
America has been doing the census for a long time now. The Constitution requires a census every 10 years.
The Census Bureau has this information on its web site if you’re more comfortable doing it that way.
Responding to the Census takes just minutes and can be done online, over the phone or by mail.

Why do big cities promote anarchy?
There is no doubt at this point that administrators of big cities are encouraging the anarchy and destruction going on there.
Portland, Oregon, has been under attack for about 60 consecutive days now.
Every night, violent BLM and Antifa supporters surround the Hatfield Courthouse, unleashing mayhem and causing as much physical damage as possible. Rioters launch lit fireworks into the city’s public buildings, smash windows, and vandalize property.
And yet, most Americans wouldn’t know it.
The anarchy is whitewashed with fraudulent portrayals of peaceful protests and outrageous claims of a fascist government response. Look no further than CNN’s description of federal law enforcement,
“Federal forces, whose camouflage, troop-like uniforms and aggressive tactics have exacerbated the protests.”
We’re almost ashamed to admit we’re in the news business with places like CNN (all the biggies) spreading outright lies as news.
They’re following the rule of all propagandists: Tell the same big lie often enough and people will believe it.
We’d like to hear answers from the big city administrators on a few questions:
1. Why do you think that encouraging rioters (not peaceful protesters) to destroy your cities is beneficial to the people who live there?
2. Do you believe that the law-abiding citizens of your cities support this?
3. Are you hoping to ignite a complete overthrow of the United States government and if so, why?
4. What is it in particular about a free and fair nation that you hate so?
Even if they read this they probably wouldn’t respond. Just change the subject.
It’s less than 100 days until the presidential election.
The obvious goal of the leftist city leaders is to defeat President Trump, who thwarted their goal of basically transforming America into a socialist country in 2016.
They are mad, mad, mad and they’ll never stop until they get their way. Or kicked out of office. Hey, that’s a thought.
