Democrats block Trump’s help, cities struggle with crime

By

Vice President JD Vance recently spoke in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and he made something very clear: President Donald Trump is standing up for law and order, while Democrats seem more worried about politics than protecting people. In fact, Vance said something that might sound strange at first — President Trump has actually made Democrats support crime. But once you hear the facts, it all makes sense.

Let’s start with the basics. Crime is a serious problem in many American cities. Places like Milwaukee and Chicago, two cities full of good and hardworking people, have been dealing with rising violence for years. Carjackings, armed robberies, and even murders are becoming too common. Yet instead of doing all they can to stop it, many Democrat leaders refuse to accept help — just because it comes from Trump.

That’s right. When President Trump offered help to these cities, some Democrat mayors and governors got angry. Not because the help wasn’t needed, but because it came from someone they don’t like. As JD Vance put it, “Why is it that you have mayors and governors who are angrier about Donald Trump offering to help them than they are about the fact that their own residents are being carjacked and murdered in the streets?” That’s a question every American should be asking.

Here’s what really happened. In Washington, DC — a city run by Democrats for decades — crime was out of control. So, the Trump administration sent in the National Guard and extra federal officers to support the local police. The result? In just 14 days, murders, carjackings, and armed robberies dropped. In fact, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, a Democrat herself, had to admit that it worked. She said carjackings dropped by 87% in just 20 days. That’s not a small change. That’s a huge win for the people living there.

But instead of joining Trump to keep people safe, national Democrat leaders are doing the opposite. They’re mocking the effort. They’re acting like crime isn’t a problem. Why? Because President Trump is the one solving it. JD Vance joked that if Trump said he liked puppies, Democrats would start saying puppies are bad. It sounds silly, but sadly, it’s not far from the truth. They are more focused on hating Trump than helping Americans.

This isn’t how government is supposed to work. Our Founders believed in common sense and working together for the good of the people. They gave us a Constitution that limits power, protects freedom, and keeps government close to the people. But when cities fall apart and leaders refuse help, we see what happens when those principles are ignored.

The President has every right — and even a duty — to step in when cities are in danger and local leaders fail. That’s not federal overreach. That’s maintaining peace and protecting life, which is one of the basic roles of government.
