English leader issues China warning

Brexit leader of England Nigel Farage predicted last week that if other nations don’t join American President Donald Trump in shaking off their dependence on cheap Chinese made goods, China will rule the world in 10 to 15 years.

“Ultimately, it isn’t governments or trade deals that decide how much business gets done between nations. It is consumers that make that decision, and I am hoping tens of millions of consumers across the West will follow my lead” in turning away from communist China’s cheap goods, Farage said on an April 20 broadcast of Breitbart News Daily on Sirius XM Patriot.

“And if that’s right, we will diminish the power of China. And if it’s not right, then in 10-15 years time, they will rule the world,” Farage predicted.

Americans have been lulled into complacency since the end of World War II when the U.S. became the pre-eminent world power.

Former President Richard Nixon can be thanked for China’s rise to prominence. He and his national security advisor, Henry Kissinger, orchestrated the deal that brought China out of isolation, giving Premier Zhou Enlai virtually everything the Chinese asked for, including a one-China policy. That deal stated that all Chinese on either side of theTaiwan Strait were part of China. Nixon reversed an earlier stand on China and Taiwan with his China deal.

Historians say that Nixon’s goal was less about confronting major suppliers of aid and arms to North Vietnam, which had killed almost 60,000 American youth prior to Nixon’s February 1972 visit to China, than it was about enhancing diplomatic and geopolitical positioning and leverage for the United States around the world.

China had materially contributed to the deaths of the young soldiers for whom Nixon was not just president, but commander-in-chief, Winston Lord pointed out in an oral history.

History will determine if the deal was a total sellout to China or beneficial to the U.S. in other ways by allowing the U.S. to deal separately with Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union and China after peeling China away from the communist bloc. Nixon and Kissinger wanted to get help in resolving the Vietnam war.

China was America’s enemy then and remains its enemy despite becoming a world economic power due in large measure to America’s free trade agreement with the dictatorial regime.

President Trump has sought to change the trade agreements between the two nations with fairer trade policies. The old policies resulted in many companies shipping their manufacturing to China to take advantage of its cheap– actually slave – labor.

Farage praised the “very good, and very brave” Trump for being the only global leader who dared to stand up to vested interests and Chinese power.

Now, the world needs to reassess China’s authoritarian regime after its dishonesty caused the Wuhan coronavirus to spread worldwide, Farage is quoted in a Free Press International release.

“I think what’s happening, is the great publics around the West are waking up to the fact that China is no longer an opportunity for us to buy cheap goods, but that China is a threat,” Farage said. “And I hope we’re going to see two things — firstly, governments being demanded by their electorates that they are at least self-sufficient of things we need in times of national emergency. And secondly … is going to be in years to come if I go into a shop in years to come and see a label that says ‘made in China’, I’m not going to buy that product while that barbarous regime is in charge.”

Farage continued: “What you’re now seeing across the world is the growing realization that this is a Communist dictatorship that has imprisoned hundreds of thousands of people just because of their religion, and tried to indoctrinate them. That through state executions gets rid of huge numbers of people every year — many of them, frankly for what they’ve believed, not what they’ve done wrong — and have completely hushed up this outbreak from the very beginning.”

On China using coronavirus as an opportunity to exert political power, Farage said: “To see China now exploiting a crisis that they have caused to spread their influence further and deeper into Europe should send a chill down our spines… I have pointed out before that many members of our big business class, of the civil service, and indeed of our political class are increasingly in the pay of China.

“They ought to take their noses out of the trough and have a think. Their financial well-being is not above the good of our nation.”

Another way in which China appears to be attempting to exploit the coronavirus is the enormous damage it is inflicting on businesses in foreign countries — weakness Chinese state-backed businesses with near-unlimited access to cash appear willing to exploit. Speaking in early April, the Brexit leader warned: “What is happening right now is that Chinese companies and Chinese money are lining up for what they expect to be a ‘fire sale’ of British businesses… I fear, we’re going to allow China in to buy up vast swathes of our strategic and manufacturing industries and it just can’t be allowed.

“The problem is the same mob that sold us out to Brussels are now happy to sell out our sovereignty once again to China and this needs a much bigger, higher level of debate.”

Americans should have awakened to the threat of allowing vital means of production to be siphoned off by an unfriendly government when it was revealed during the coronavirus pandemic that even many of our medical needs were now being produced in China.

The one-worlders, of course, think this is fine because it gives them access to a billion-person market and access to cheap products.

Americans should be concerned if China continues it rise to the top. China owns a major chunk of the United States’ rising national debt.

Perhaps a policy of becoming self-sufficient in providing its own needs, maintaining the rights of citizens under a constitutional government that will keep it “a shining city on the hill” as President Reagan recommended in his farewell speech to the nation is in order.

America has always been a grand experiment in which the citizens have been the bosses rather than government elitists.

America must survive and serve as an important role model for other nations.
