FBI PREPARES FOR POTENTIAL DRONE TERROR ATTACKS

FBI Director Kash Patel announced Saturday that the Trump administration is dramatically ramping up efforts to combat drone threats.

A new National Counter- UAS Training Center is now operational at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.

The reason? Drones have become weapons for criminals, terrorists, and foreign adversaries.

“Unmanned aircraft are increasingly exploited by criminals, terrorists, and hostile foreign actors — making the counter UAS program a critical area for the FBI to modernize and adapt to stay ahead of the threat,” Patel wrote.

Deputy Director Dan Bongino put it even more bluntly: “The drone threat isn’t in the future, it’s in the now.”

Trump Signed the Executive Order in June — The Center Is Already Operational This isn’t a proposal. It’s not a study. It’s done.

President Trump signed an executive order in June directing the creation of the training center. The FBI built it. It’s now preparing law enforcement across the country.

The center trains officers to detect, identify, track, and mitigate unlawful drone activity — all in compliance with the National Defense Authorization Act.

This is what government looks like when someone actually wants results.

The World Cup and Olympics Are Coming — And They’re Prime Targets The training center has immediate, concrete applications.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 2028 Summer Olympics.

Both events will draw massive crowds. Both present obvious targets for terrorists. Both require security capabilities that didn’t exist a decade ago.

Drones can deliver explosives. They can conduct surveillance for attack planning. They can disrupt events and create panic.

The FBI is preparing now — years before the events — rather than scrambling at the last minute.

Patel framed the center in terms of long-term national security: “This is an investment that will pay huge dividends for America’s national security in the years to come.”

Every law enforcement officer trained at Redstone brings those skills back to their jurisdiction. Every technique developed there spreads across the country.

The center isn’t just protecting federal events. It’s building nationwide capability.

The FCC Just Banned Foreign-Made Drones

The counter-drone push extends beyond the FBI.

On Monday, the Federal Communications Commission announced it would ban new foreign-made drones due to national security concerns.

The FCC added drones and their critical components made in China and other foreign countries to its “covered list” — equipment determined to pose “unacceptable risk” to U.S. national security.
