If you’re ho-ho-ho has lost all its punch, then you’re not alone.

That was intended to mean that I’m tired, but then again, what I’m really thinking is what I can’t remember. Or, why I can’t remember, especially, but not limited to, people’s names!

I’ve always been the Queen in that department, and could also remember their spouse’s name, their children’s names, who they were related to, and always how to spell their name.

No, this isn’t a commercial for some surecure memory pills we see on TV. That’s because I can’t remember the name of those drugs!

That wasn’t a joke. However, I can remember that my second grade school teacher was Miss Bayless, and third grade was Miss Mayhew, and sixth grade was Mrs. Boone (she had to be married because she told us about her teenage daughter who always manicured her fingernails every night and we should do the same).

Yes, I am one of those old people who can remember some stuff like that (except my phone number as a kid), but I can’t remember passwords to any of my accounts, and, like I said, people’s names. However, I can usually describe those people (blonde hair, tall, older than me), or motion in the direction where they live, or remember their first name starts with … some letter in the alphabet that I make up right there on the spot.

Sure, sure, I’m also blaming it on the Christmas holidays, but Saturday I was in worse shape. The kids came for brunch, and I didn’t realize until they were about to leave that I forgot to change into my jeans and Christmas sock instead of my pajama pants and house shoes.

Oh well, I’ll write that off because I was able to get the blueberry muffins out of the oven right after the first batch of our kids walked in. And if I do say so myself, Betty Crocker and I did pretty good.

It took me forever to just make one batch of sugar cookie dough for the girls this year. With any luck I got all the ingredients in, and I may have used up all my almond flavoring in it. Oh well, I’ve got almost 12 months to get more. Though maybe I should go ahead and add it to my grocery list.

Where’d I put my telephone?

And on a ha-ha-ha note, I think I need a nap.

Now!
