We have to admit (social media ignoramus that we are) we never heard of Jussie Smollett – if that’s even his name – until the now famous false attack on him in Chicago.

Smollett, an actor in a movie we never heard of – something about space travel, we think – reported he had been attacked by Trump supporters shouting racist and homophobic epithets while innocently walking down a Chicago street early in the morning Jan. 29.

Then his troubles began to mount.

Police investigated and his story failed to meet standards of professional police work.

As his tale unraveled, it was revealed he had paid a couple of friends to make the faux attack. Who knows why? Maybe because he hadn’t had enough publicity lately.

But, wait. Back to before he called in police. He got the word out to the media about the supposed incident and the left-wing mob that puts such happenings out on the Internet about his devastating ordeal – at the hands of those heinous President Trump supporters and they ran with it, never bothering to check the facts.

Hey, it meshed with their never-Trump agenda and they’re not overly-concerned with things like truth and ethics, anyway, when they can engage in the kind of bigotry they like to accuse “deplorables” of.

You may remember Newton’s Third Law: For every action there is an opposite reaction of equal size. At least that’s what we think we heard in a junior high school science class.

Anyway, people have now gotten the facts: the attack report was a lie from start to finish.

For the social justice mob, it served its purpose: an opportunity to untruthfully slime a president who is not following the Left’s script.

Unwittingly, their actions have proven to a growing segment of the population that you can’t believe what they say.

In fact, it goes deeper than that. They are creating solid anger among normals subjected to such sleeziness because it crowds reason out of public debate.

Rather than creating a slavering hatred for the president they despise, it is creating a growing “wokeness” that the target of their hatred is the most aware president since Ronald Reagan.

The lefties’ attempts to shout down their opponents are becoming less and less effective. (Remember Chicken Little and her repeated claims the sky is falling?)

Poof! Fewer and fewer are believing the horsefeathers (or maybe that’s cowfeathers) – if you believe newly-crowned Socialist queen of the U.S. House, A-O-C about cows’ flatulence damaging effect on the environment. A side note: We have never observed cows breaking wind and we were around them a lot as a boy.

The elitist left should know better than to push normals in a corner; they may come out swinging.

Such chaos would be awful if the left pushes it to the brink. There’s nothing worse than a civil war, which the left seems to want, because it is so personal.

Suggestions have been offered that if the lefties don’t like the abundance of freedoms, not to mention food, medicine and comfort items of many kinds available so readily here, they should go somewhere else to create their own Venezuela.

Although younger people who seem to have been tutored by former 1960’s hippies who have evolved to the ranks of college professors that the U.S. is a racist, unfair society, that is pure left-wing propaganda.

The America haters don’t mention this is a free society – a system that has produced peace and freedoms unknown anywhere else in the world.

The vandals aren’t at the gates in America, they are on the inside seeking to undo everything that hard-working Americans have toiled for over two centuries to produce.

We haven’t heard of any Jussietale – or Duke Lacrosse team or campus rape lie – believers, or promoters of the unsuccessful Borking of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh apologizing for their bigotry, as yet.

Of course they can’t because anyone who admits he (or she) made a mistake would be eaten alive by fellow members of the radical left.

Fortunately there is still a substantial group of American citizens (the normals) who will not believe the manufactured nonsense sweeping certain sections of the nation.

While leftism is an infection, there is time to cure the disease.

And Americans showed the way in the 2016 presidential election. There was a minor setback with the illness in the 2018 congressional elections but that can be considered a notice there is more work to be done.
