Our Farm-to-Market Roads
The Loyal to Calumet road (2740 Road) is finally open; the improvements make it a better road.
Our third District road crews are getting the blacktops (Farm-to Market) roads ready for winter.
We can always hope for a super slab-like 2740 road from Highway 33 south to the county line. I don’t see that happening in the near future, maybe not in my lifetime. I’ve talked about this before; the county blacktops were great at the time. They weren’t made for today’s heavy loads.
It took time to get 2740 south to 33 done, as I recall, almost all winter. It sure was nice when it was done. Maybe – just maybe – all our farm-to-market roads will be like it.
God bless America,
